COVID-19 Statement 3/25/20
March 25, 2020 / News
In response to the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis we want our communities, the friends and families of our patients and staff to know we take the health and safety of our patients and staff very seriously. We also understand that many individuals and families are still being impacted by the ongoing public health crisis of addiction. Wells House is committed to the support of our residential patients, many of them in the very early weeks of recovery. We intend to continue providing high quality and comprehensive substance use disorder treatment services during this challenging time.
Updates about COVID-19 are changing hour by hour and we are closely following the situation and Wells House is prepared to respond. Our staff is monitoring updates issued by the CDC, WHO, State of Maryland, local health systems, and county health departments and will be implementing the safety recommendations of those organizations as they are presented to us.
We are frequently sanitizing our facilities with a focus on high traffic areas. Our staff is being asked to practice common sense measures outside of work and have been instructed to stay home if they do not feel well.
We are so grateful for the hard work, care and compassion demonstrated by our staff through this crisis. As essential health care personnel they come to work each and every day ready to care for patients while trying to keep themselves and their loved ones healthy. During this socially isolating time our patients have demonstrated understanding and patience as we make changes each and every day to try to keep everyone safe.
